Armaan Gupta was drinking juice and spilt it. While any other child would’ve lied, cried, or mopped up the mess with a cloth, Armaan, who studies in Class 5, was inspired to create a remote-controlled cleaning machine.
His mother encouraged the idea and found out that Somaiya Vidyavihar, an educational campus located in the Vidyavihar suburb of Mumbai, has an incubation lab. She took a membership for Armaan and with no one to disturb him, the little wizard went to work.
The cleaning and mopping machine Gupta made dries the surface simultaneously. It has detachable sponges for its maintenance. The device can clean the surface and dry it as well.

Armaan will now showcase his invention at the Maker Mela, which is an event organized by Somaiya Vidyavihar and RiiDL. Scheduled to be held from January 11-13, the event is an all-ages showcase of invention, creativity and resourcefulness.
Innovators attending the Maker Mela range from tech enthusiasts to crafters, educators, tinkerers, engineers, artists, science clubs, students, and even commercial exhibitors. Armaan is the youngest of the lot.
