A pamphlet was signed by 46 Islamic clerics calling for a boycott of Nahid and her performance because they argued it was too close to a Mosque and a graveyard.

Thousands have taken to their social media accounts to throw their weight behind the young singer.
We should respect the art and always remember, art has no religion. I stand with Nahid Afrin #NahidAfrin

The tenacious young woman, meanwhile, has bravely stood up for herself and noted that she will not stop singing. She has been quoted by Firstport as saying, "Ten percent people may be against me but I am happy with the 90 percent standing with me. I want to put an end to all this in the name of religion... people who have a bright future should be encouraged. A great thanks to all my well-wishers for supporting me throughout my journey... I promise I will continue to sing till my last breath."Just spoke with #NahidAfrin and her parents. They are standing strong. Told her that we all stand with her. She will not give up on music!
